(KSL News) -- Utah's lone Democratic gubernatorial candidate officially launched his campaign today.
Scott Matheson Junior held the kick-off celebration at East High School. Matheson says Utah has reached a crossroads.
Scott Matheson Jr. (D) Candidate for Governor of Utah: "We can never be satisfied with the Utah we have become. We must work for the Utah we can become. As well as we have done, we can do better."
Some of Matheson's big concerns are education, jobs, economic development... and a political balance.
Matheson is not a political newcomer.
He managed his father's campaigns for governor, and his brother is congressman of Utah's second district.
Matheson is a professor of law at the University of Utah.
The race for governor in Utah is crowded this year, besides Matheson there are a total of 13 other candidates... 9 of which are Republican.
