(KSL News) -- Republican candidate for Utah governor, Fred Lampropoulos, has a running mate for November's election.

He's chosen Lou Ann Christensen to be his Lieutenant Governor. He announced his decision at a press conference in Salt Lake City this morning. He says Christensen is the best person for the job.

Fred Lampropoulos, Gubernatorial Candidate: "I'm delighted for that. I'm thrilled. I think it brings great balance to the ticket and a great rural perspective and city perspective."

Christensen is currently the mayor of Brigham City. Lampropoulos says her experience serving on city councils, commissions and boards will help him serve the state of Utah.

The pair is now headed to campaign in Richfield.
