(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Law enforcement officials say Utah may no longer be immune to the threat of outlaw biker gangs.

A new trend of expansion within motorcycle gangs is causing concern, and authorities say they're closely keeping an eye on the groups.

In January of last year, one of the nation's largest biker gangs, the Bandidos, set up a Utah chapter. Last month, the chapter president was arrested on suspicion of murder.

And some say it's only a matter of time before the Hells Angels take root in the state, too.

Investigators say the expansion of outlaw biker gangs into Utah may be to increase the size of individual gangs for numbers' sake or to provide an interstate line to aid in drug trafficking.
