(Woods Cross-AP) -- A pilot is back on solid ground after a dangerous landing at an airport in Woods Cross.

The man was traveling from Battle Mountain, Nevada in his single-engine Cessna last night around 8:30 p-m.

He was about to land at Skypark Airport, but his landing gear was not down. Woods Cross police say normally an alarm sounds in those situations but it didn't in this case.

The man made a belly landing and the plane left a long scrape in the paint on the asphalt where it landed.

The man was the only one in the plane and was not injured. The most of the plane's damage was to the propellor.

The F-A-A is investigating.
