(KSL News) Two young men are dead this morning after a car crash in Riverton. It happened just before 10:00 last night.
Officers and witnesses say the red car was traveling west on 13400 South when it swerved off the roadway. After the driver tried to overcorrect, the car skidded back into traffic, and that's when it collided with a silver vehicle.
Both men in the red car, said to live nearby, were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman in the silver car was airlifted to the hospital.
Lt. Jon Fassett/ Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "The firemen were concerned because of the nature of the impact. Pretty violent collision, and when there's a violent collision like that there's always a chance for internal injuries."
The woman is expected to be okay.
Investigators are now looking into what exactly caused the crash. Witnesses say the red car may have been speeding.
