(KSL News) -- Police are trying to figure out just what happened after a semi-truck driver hit a pedestrian, but the driver didn't know it.
A semi-truck carrying three trailers was traveling northbound on Redwood Road near 1700 South. He entered the intersection on a green light. Witnesses say a pedestrian crossing against the light, was hit by one of the trailers.
Sgt. Dave Warner, Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "The truck driver had heard on AM or FM radio, that an accident involving a semi had occurred at this location shortly after the time he had passed through the intersection. He in turn came back to us and said, 'Well I was at that location at that time and believe that it may have been my truck."
The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The driver and his truck are being investigated.
