SALT LAKE CITY -- The recession is being felt at EnergySolutions Arena, as the Utah Jazz head into their home opener Friday night against the Clippers.

Getting people to come to the arena has been tougher this year.

"Season tickets, we're down. But we're down just a little bit," says Jim Olson, senior vice president over marketing for the Utah Jazz.

Olson says the same goes for the retail sales of Jazz gear. This season, the organization has had to think outside the box.

"We're trying to get more creative with our ticket packages," Olson says. "And then, you know, the other thing we're doing is being real aggressive with our Internet says.

He says that's where most fans buy their tickets now.

While fans are still spending their money on sporting events, Olsen says he thinks they're just being more selective on which ones.
