(KSL News) -- Supporters of foster care rallied at the Capitol this morning in support of the governor's declaration of May as Foster Care Month. And they underscored the need for foster care in our state.

Some of the teens shared their stories of growing up in foster care, and how they have now graduated to independent living.

Typically, more than 2,000 children are in foster care in Utah, with just 1,000 licensed foster families serve them.
