(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Three Utah residents are ready to carry the Olympic flame on its way to Athens, Greece, for the 2004 Summer Games.
Osmond Crosby of Park City, Brett Banford of Salt Lake City and Brittney Chamberlain of Layton have all been chosen to participate in the first-ever worldwide torch relay that will bring the flame to 27 countries including the United States.
Crosby, Banford and Chamberlain will run the flame in Los Angeles on June 16th, the first of four days it will spend in the United States.
The 35-day relay that began in the ancient home of the Games, Olympia, Greece, on March 25th, will conclude when the flame ignites the Olympic cauldron during the opening ceremonies of the Athens Games on August 13th.
