BRIGHAM CITY -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has finalized the site for what will become the Church's 14th temple in Utah.

The temple will be built on a vacant lot at 250 S. Main Street in Brigham City. Church President Thomas S. Monson announced the temple during the church's General Conference in October.

The property is bordered by the LDS Tabernacle to the east, houses to the west, and retail stores to the north and south.

South Fork Hardware store manager Rachelle Sidwell is happy about the news, and the prospect that the temple will draw more people downtown.

"I think that the people are going to want to keep the town a little bit nicer now," Sidwell said. "They're going to have to kind of face-up their stores a little bit more and make them look pretty."

No completion date has been announced, nor have any plans about the design or size.
