(KSL News) -- You've spent years inventing a new product that you think the world just can't live without and you've emptied your bank account make it happen, now how do you get the product out there?
That's what the 5th annual Edison Conference and Innovation Showcase at the U of U is all about. The two day event brings inventors and entrepreneurs together with potential investors and venture capitalists.
There are 50 exhibit booths featuring new ideas, primarily in the high-tech field.
Terrence Chatwin, Dir. U. of U. Engineering Station: "The object of the conference is to educate them and teach them that the most important part of getting a product commercialized is to find the market that's going to buy it."
One of the companies seeking funding says it has figured out a cheaper way to produce oil and gas from oil shale in eastern Utah. Anybody have 350-million to get that oil flowing?
The conference continues through tomorrow.
