(KSL News) -- A St. George Police Officer shot a man this afternoon.
The officer made a routine traffic stop on River Road.
Police say the suspect got out of the car with a handgun, started toward the officer., and refused to drop the gun after the officer ordered him to.
The man's name hasn't been released yet, but he's at Dixie Regional medical Center.
Police tell us his injuries don't appear life threatening.
