Cody Heiselt: "He came in, he looked just fine. He was coming in talking, came in for about 5 minutes and he came back out."
Investigators say, that's when the victim ran into the suspects. They say, the two men sprayed him with mace, then beat him.
Witnesses believe, it was part of a fight that began earlier, at a nearby home.
Cody Heiselt: "They fought for a minute, crossed the street, then they got into another fight."
Armijo was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspects, Adam Price and Jared Gillett, both 21, were arrested overnight.
Heiselt says, the three men, know each other. Police are still investigating, what caused the fight.
As for Heiselt, he was left comforting the victim's 12 year old daughter.
Cody Heiselt: "It was scary. I cried because I promised his little girl he would be alright."
