(Elko, Nevada-AP) -- Elko County sheriff's officials say they intend to release some new information soon about the search for an 11-year-old Sparks girl last seen hiking Saturday afternoon with her family in the Ruby Mountains.

Kathleen Galindo had been camping with her parents, Fred and Larene Barrett, and a nine-year-old sister in the Thomas Canyon campground about 20 miles east of Elko in Lamoille Canyon.

She is four feet-eleven inches tall, ways 90 pounds and has brown hair. She was wearing a red T-shirt, blue fleece pullover with Winnie the Pooh on the front, blue jeans and a two-tone green Columbia jacket, and white tennis shoes.

Elko sheriff deputies and Elko police are searching for the girl along with firefighters representing Elko, Jiggs, Spring Creek and the Nevada Division of Forestry.

A sheriff's dispatcher says he expects additional information to be released this afternoon.
