(KSL News) -- A three-year old girl is in the hospital tonight after being hit by a pick-up truck.
Salt Lake County police say she was playing outside and suddenly ran across the street. They say the driver couldn't see her until the last minute because other cars were in the way.
Lt. Jon Fassett, Salt Lake County: "Looks like the driver did everything she could to try to stop, but the way the child ran out, really didn't have any chance to avoid hitting her."
Authorities say the girl's foot was pressed against the pavement and seriously hurt. She was flown to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
