(Farmington-AP) -- A former Bountiful firefighter and emergency medical technician has been charged with trying to kill two fetuses by poisoning his girlfriend with blood-thinner pills.
Twenty-three-year-old Brandon Weaver is charged in Farmington's 2nd District Court with third-degree felony counts of child-abuse homicide and surreptitious administration of a substance.
Weaver -- the father of the fetuses -- allegedly attempted to abort them by putting the medication in a sandwich on March Third.
The 32-year-old woman -- who was about 11 weeks pregnant at the time -- ate a portion of the sandwich before throwing it away because it tasted funny.
Neither the woman nor the fetuses, who are not yet born, were harmed.
