CENTERVILLE, Utah (AP) -- As store security officers were watching him on surveillance cameras, a Clinton man allegedly videotaped up an 11-year-old girl's skirt.

Police Lt. Paul Child said the 33-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon after officers searched his home and found the camera.

He was booked into the Davis County Jail for investigation of voyeurism, a felony. He was not a registered sex offender and does not have a prior criminal record, Child said.

The incident happened at a Target Superstore on June 18, Child said.

Security personnel spotted him entering the store with a black leather bag and were suspicious because shoplifters commonly carry big bags.

The store staff followed him on their surveillance monitors and were watching when he allegedly put down his bag next to the girl and her mother and "was fiddling" with the bag, Child said.

When security approached him, he left the store with his bag, but store personnel got his license-plate number and contacted police.
