(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Governor Olene Walker has appointed Springville resident Aaron Tilton to represent House District 65 in the Utah House of Representatives.

Tilton, a Republican, replaces Calvin G. Bird, who resigned last month.

The 32-year-old Tilton is a Utah County native, attended local schools and now works as a technology marketing consultant.

In May, Bird said he wouldn't seek re-election to a second term after a newspaper learned he had been arrested in Salt Lake City for soliciting a police decoy prostitute last September.
