(KSL News) -- An early morning accident near Hinckley has killed one person. The car was headed westbound on State Road 6 and 50 when it ran off the road.
The driver, 25-year old Lena Austin, overcorrected, went across both lanes and then off the left road edge, which caused the car to roll.
Austin was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown out. She died at the scene. Two passengers were taken to the hospital.
Another accident up Little Cottonwood Canyon put the skills of Unified Fire crews to the test today.
Apparently a car coming down the canyon tried to avoid hitting some bicyclists, and ended up going off the edge of the road. The car fell about 150 feet, and landed on its top.
Rescue crews had to use a rope and pulley system to bring the 47-year old driver up. He was flown to the hospital in good condition.
