(KSL News) -- Investigators say an extremely destructive, fast-moving fire at a home in Sandy last night, was caused by an electrical problem on the deck.

They believe it quickly spread inside the house from there.

It broke out around eleven o'clock last night at the home located at 8784 S. Piper Lane in Sandy.

The family was home at the time. Everyone escaped safely.

Damage is estimated around 100-thousand dollars.
