(KSL News) -- The American Football Coaches Association and Deseret Credit Union are teaming up to distribute national child identification kits to families in Utah.

Parents maintain these kits as their children grow. The kits can then be given to law enforcement in the event of an emergency.

Detective Kevin Joiner: "When you are that traumatized because your child is missing, it's often times very difficult to even answer the most basic questions."

Included in the kits are inkless fingerprinting kits, laminated wallet cards, and DNA collection envelopes.
