Tom Kirkland ReportingDoes the name Cael Sanderson ring a bell? Well, it should. He's only been among the most dominant wrestlers in American history, and at the tender age of 25 Cael's living his lifelong dream.
From the land of the Heber Creeper comes this wrestling locomotive. Cael Sanderson's the greatest college wrestler of all time and his quest for Olympic gold was forged in the rock solid foundation of the Heber valley.
There's nothing tighter than the Sanderson family -- four talented wrestling brothers, parents who've coached and coaxed them all along the way. When they weren't drilling or traveling to wrestling tournaments the kids would enjoy the great outdoors.
And Cael's done it all here, leading the Wasatch High School to four straight state titles in the mid-90's. His larger than life mural's on the wall in the Wasps’ gym.
From there he went on to rule the college mats like no other in history going 159-0 at iowa state.
Then back in May, Cael earned a shot at his first Olympic gold, winning his freestyle weight class at the Olympic trials.
Cael's been in Athens since well before the opening ceremonies, but doesn't compete until two days before closing ceremonies. That's finally coming up this Friday and we'll be there watching Cael go for the gold.
