LAYTON, Utah (AP) -- Pocket bikes and motorized go-carts have been banned from Layton's streets and sidewalks.
Riders of motorized scooters are more visible because they are standing, and they still will be allowed.
The City Council approved the ordinance last week after the city received numerous complaints.
Police Chief Terry Keefe said the go-carts and pocket bikes put the rider at risk because their low profile makes them difficult for motorists to see.
He said even adults sit too low to be seen.
