ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- The preliminaries in the Miss America pageant have wrapped up.
Miss Georgia Danica Tisdale won the talent competition and Miss Utah Amy Davis won the swimsuit competition.
Tisdale sang "Please Send Me Someone To Love" and won a four-thousand dollar scholarship. Davis wore a yellow-and-black two-piece swimsuit and won two-thousand dollars.
The 52 contestants were divided into three groups the last three nights for the preliminaries in talent, swimwear, casual wear and evening wear.
Winners of the casual wear and evening wear competitions are not made public.
The preliminary results determine which women advance to the top ten for Saturday's telecast of the finals.
