The National Weather Service has issued a heavy snow warning advisory for today for the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains.

Forecasters say a deep cold trough will hover over the intermountain region for the next two days and snowfall accumulations of six-to-ten inches are possible above seven-thousand feet. They say the higher benches could also see a dusting of snow.

But meteorologists say cold weather typically moves through in late September and early October, so snowfall isn't uncommon in those areas.
