Sam Penrod reporting Investigators now say the Eagle Mountain man who died in a head-on collision with a dump truck may have deliberately driven into the truck to commit suicide.

Utah County Sheriff's deputies say 33-year-old John M. Cottrell is suspected of raping a teenage girl shortly before the crash. He died at the scene. The truck driver was not seriously hurt.
Troopers say he was driving towards Lehi, when he turned into the oncoming lanes of traffic and was hit head on by a ten wheel dump truck that had a full load of topsoil.
Lt. Ken Peay, Utah Highway Patrol: "The driver of the Mazda was dead at the scene. He was a local resident, Eagle Mountain area, in his mid-thirties. The dump truck driver was not injured, just shaken up."

Troopers say the dump truck driver did try to get out of the way, but there wasn't enough time.
