OREM, Utah (AP) -- Orem is saying no to new billboards in town.
On Tuesday, the city council passed an ordinance restricting the advertising.
Until recently, the city didn't think they'd need to venture into this territory. But a July decision by a state administrative hearing officer found that the state had miscalculated some measurements, and there was space left for additional signs.
That was discovered after a billboard company applied for a new sign.
City officials say they were particularly concerned that their four freeway exits would be overrun with signs.
