SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Authorities are investigating this morning's death of an off-duty Salt Lake City police officer.
It happened after he helped direct traffic around a construction crew. Another officer drove up to talk to him, and then started shouting to the utility crew for assistance when he found his co-worker unresponsive.
NO foul play is suspected in the 44-year-old officer's death.
Police Detective Dwayne Baird says the officer -- a 14-year department veteran -- was in top physical condition.
The man's name has NOT been released pending notification of family.
