(KSL News) -- The President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints received a special honor tonight from another faith.
The Catholic Community Services' recognized President Gordon B. Hinckley with their Distinguished Humanitarian Award.
Organizers say President Hinckley has been instrumental in improving humanitarian aid, disaster relief and education funding across the globe.
They say he's inspired millions in his nearly 75 years of leadership in the Church.
Maggie StClair/Executive Director of CCS of Utah: "All the religions work together in salt lake to create help for the poor and certainly President Hinckley exemplifies that."
The C-C-S also honored The Good Samaritan Program and Salt Lake Interfaith Hospitality Network for providing food and shelter to the homeless.
