(KSL News) Officers make a big pot bust in South Salt Lake City.
Late last night an officer got an anonymous tip that marijuana was being cultivated at the home at 138 W. Plymouth Avenue.
That officer joined with the special crimes unit, got a search warrant, and found a greenhouse bursting at the seams with marijuana plants.
Sgt. Keith Livingston/ South Salt Lake Police Dept.: "Most of the plants ranged anywhere from six feet tall to 12 to 14 feet, guessing myself, but they're quite tall. It was a fairly large operation. We were a bit surprised when we executed the search warrant to find this many plants at the residence."
A husband and wife in their 50s are in the County jail and face numerous charges. The street value of the plants is estimated at 100-thousand dollars.
