UTAH COUNTY -- A Lehi man has pleaded guilty to shooting and killing his uncle.
Colton Louder, 25, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jeffery Ackerman, 45. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors changed the charge to manslaughter, enhanced to a first-degree felony.
Police say both men had been using drugs when the shooting happened last Feb. 27 in Pleasant Grove. Investigators say Louder got into an argument with Ackerman then fired a shot at him and ran off. Ackerman chased Louder, and police say Louder shot his uncle several times in the chest.
Louder faces a sentence of five years to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 17.
