(KSL News) -- A former Bountiful firefighter is going to prison for poisoning his pregnant girlfriend.

As part of a plea agreement, Brandon Weaver was sentenced, yesterday, to nine months in jail and 36 months on probation.

Prosecutors say he crushed blood thinner tablets and hid them inside his girlfriend's sandwich.

She was pregnant with twins.

She ate part of the sandwich but threw it out because it tasted funny.

The babies were born in August and are doing fine.
