(KSL News) A woman is dead after a horrific car accident Saturday night.
Police say a car was traveling on California Avenue when a large pickup truck ran a red light, smashed into it, and tore a door off on impact.
Several people were ejected from both vehicles. Crews had to extract another passenger in the car.
Lt. Robert Linton/ SLPD: "By the amount of damage, it looks like there was an excess of speed and we don't know at this point if there were drugs or alcohol involved. We're still trying to let things calm down a bit so we can gather the information."
The victim's name has not been released. Six people are hurt, at least three are in critical condition.
