High Speed Chase Ends With Shooting

(KSL News) -- A high speed chase ended with a shooting in Salt Lake County tonight.

The chase started shortly after 7pm, when a Granite School District police officer spotted three known fugitives.

The suspect car sped off, leading officers on a chase through the city.

Speeds reached between 50 and 80 miles an hour.

The chase ended downtown Salt Lake when the car crashed. The people inside the car fled on foot.

One of the suspects was cornered, and shot when he confronted officers with a gun.

The other two suspects were captured a short time later.

One of those arrested had 170-thousand dollars worth of warrants.
