ELK RIDGE, Utah (AP) -- A memorial service is scheduled for this weekend for Garrett Bardsley, the Boy Scout who disappeared during a summer camping trip and has never been found.
The boy's family wants anyone who helped in the extensive search through the Uinta Mountains to feel welcome to come to the service Saturday at their church.
Garrett's mother says there won't be closure until his body is found. But the service will give people a chance to see Garrett in family pictures and hear stories of his short life.
The family is planning a holiday trip to Ecuador to help build an elementary school in his name.
Garrett never returned after leaving to go back to his campsite to get some dry clothes. That was August 20th.
