(KSL News) Holdiay cheer is going to the dogs...and cats.

Salt Lake County Animal Service volunteers decked the halls-- and animal cages-- at the animal shelter today. Organizers spruced up the place with stockings, wreaths and lights to prepare for their "Christmas for Animals" open house this month.

They're encouraging anyone who wants to buy a pet this season to consider adopting one, instead.
