Police Sending Snacks for Troops' Stockings

(KSL News) -- Pop tarts, beef jerky, microwave popcorn, not your typical stocking stuffers. But for some soldiers in Afghanistan, it's all they want for Christmas.

Police Sending Snacks for Troops' Stockings

Eighteen months ago dozens of Utah police officers stopped serving residents here to start serving the entire nation in the War Against Terror.

Ten of those troops came from the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office. Their fellow deputies have collected 500 pounds worth of troops "most missed items" to send overseas.
