Alex Cabrero ReportingThe small town calm of Payson, Utah was shattered tonight by two armed men who staged a brash robbery at an auto parts store.

The Checker Auto Parts store in Payson closes at 8:00, and that’s right when robbers decided to make their move. The two men walked into the store with guns and demanded money. They insisted the three workers inside open the safe, then go into a back room where the robbers handcuffed them, keeping the workers from escaping or calling for help.

After that the robbers simply walked away. Fortunately, one of the workers managed to get to a phone and call police for help.

Police lieutenant Bill Wright says, surprisingly, the three workers are doing okay. “They were emotional, as you might expect, but no one was physically hurt. Emotionally upset, but not physically hurt.”

Now the search is on for the two suspects. Police don’t have a good description because both suspects were wearing what police believed to be dark green ski masks. Witnesses believe they had some kind of an east coast accent.
