(KSL News) -- A man who kidnapped a Sandy woman and was involved in several car jackings is set to spend life in prison.

Thomas Gurule was sentenced under the federal "three-strikes" rule because he had previous felony convictions.

Gurule was wanted in August of 2003 for stealing gas from a Sandy service station, kidnapping a young woman and forcing her to help him get away. He released the girl unharmed.
