COLUMBUS, Neb. (AP) -- Marine Lance Corporal Aaron Holland recently returned from his second tour of Iraq. But he was killed Friday in a car accident in Utah as he was driving home to Nebraska from San Diego.

Mark Mueller is the uncle of the 2002 Columbus, Nebraska, high school graduate.

He says the family was getting ready to celebrate Christmas together when they learned of the single-vehicle accident near Richfield, Utah.

Mueller says Holland was extremely close to his mother, stepfather and stepbrothers, and it was quite an experience for the young man to be serving his country so far far home.

Mueller says it is quite difficult to have a loved one die, doubly so if it happens during a season like Christmas.

A funeral is scheduled tomorrow in the eastern Nebraska community of Columbus.
