SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Bureau of Land Management is waiving recreation-related fees for visitors in honor of National Public Lands Day.
On Saturday, site entrance and individual day-use fees will be waived. Other fees such as those for group day use, overnight camping and cabin rentals will remain in effect.
Also, the BLM, National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service and Army Corps of Engineers will present fee-free coupons to volunteers who participate in a registered National Public Lands Day Event.
The BLM manages 256 million acres of land primarily located in 12 western states, including Alaska.
