SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Alpine School District is investigating how a 5-year-old autistic boy was left on a school bus for several hours.
The Pleasant Grove boy didn't sustain any injuries, but told his mother he didn't want to ride the bus again. The boy apparently fell asleep in one of the seats and was left by the bus driver and an aide.
The school district says it's taking a serious look at what happened. However, criminal charges are unlikely -- the Utah County Sheriff's Department says there's no suspicion of wrongdoing.
The boy's mother put him on the bus at about 8:45 yesterday morning. He was found just before 1:30 in the afternoon when the driver returned for her afternoon route.
