Kimberly Houk ReportingLocal, state and federal officers surrounded a Salt Lake City apartment complex Thursday night in a standoff with a wanted drug suspect.
It all started when the narcotics task force arrived at an apartment near 700 E 700 S to serve a warrant to a 27-year old man. At that point the man barricaded himself inside his apartment.
The area has been roped off and police are attempting to make contact with the suspect. They do believe he is alone in the apartment.
Detective Dwayne Baird says the goal is to bring him out of the apartment without anyone getting hurt.
Police say there are several warrants for his arrest for narcotics violations and firearm violations.
