(KSL News) -- A convicted felon is behind bars today, thanks to an alert Murray firefighter.
The firefighter noticed 26-year-old Rafal Abdule wandering along the shoulder of Interstate 15 and told him he couldn't be there.

Abdule said he was trying to retrieve his gun and the firefighter notified the Highway Patrol.
A few minutes later troopers arrived. One trooper jumped the fence and handcuffed Abdule.
Officials quickly discovered Abdule is a convicted felon who is not allowed to have a gun.
