(KSL News) -- A Daggett County sheriff's deputy is still alive, thanks to an inmate.

The deputy was performing a head count at the county jail when he choked on a pistachio and passed out.

An inmate was waxing floors nearby and gave the deputy the Heimlich maneuver. The nut was quickly dislodged and the deputy started breathing again.
