(KSL News) -- Another Utah city is banning motorized scooters.

The West Valley City council has passed an ordinance banning Low Profile Motorized Vehicles on public property.

Those vehicles include anything powered by gas or electricity with any size motor.

The city council says the decision is based on a lack of safety features on the vehicles and reduced visibility while operating them.

The ban takes effect tomorrow.

Anyone caught on West Valley streets driving the scooters will face a class C misdemeanor.
