Poll Finds Majority of Utahns Thought Governor's Speech Effective

(KSL News) -- So what did you think of the Governor's State of the State Address last night?

That's one of the questions Dan Jones and Associates asked Utahns tonight in an exclusive poll for KSL-TV and the Deseret Morning News.

Nearly 89-percent of those polled say they thought the Governor was effective. Fewer than 6-percent say he wasn't effective.

Sixty two percent of those surveyed say the old territorial Statehouse in Fillmore was a good -place to deliver the address. Twenty one percent say either place was fine. Fourteen percent think it should've been in Salt Lake City.

When asked what should be the highest priority for funding in the current legislative session...

Fifty sevenn percent said education Seventeen percent said medical care should be the first thing to get funding from the legislature. Economic development should be the top funding priority according to 16 percent of those polled.

Six and a half percent say roads and transportation should be the first projects to be funded.
