(KSL News) -- Murray police are looking for two people suspected of fraud.

Workers at a Checker Auto Parts store suspected two customers were using forged I-Ds and stolen checks, so they called police.

When police arrived, the two jumped into an old dark burgundy pick-up truck, backed into a police car and took off.

The couple caused a crash down the road, and then threw fake documents out the window.

Police chased them at high speeds, but eventually called it off.

Det. Rob Hall, Murray City Police Dept.: "What we're asking for is the public's help in identifying these two individuals in what was basically a routine fraud turned into a very dangerous situation."

Police believe the suspects are involved in other fraud cases.
