SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Atlantic Southeast Airlines is helping Delta expand service in Salt Lake City.
Starting today, Delta and its partner carriers, Skywest, ComAir and now ASA will offer new direct service to several cities previously not serviced through Salt Lake City.
Travelers will be able to fly direct to more than a dozen new destinations, like New Orleans, Tampa, Florida and Burbank, California.
Before today many of these cities were only accessible through numerous connections.
Besides these new cities, Delta is adding 38 more flights to the existing schedule for 20 other cities.
Airport officials say, the new service is a great benefit to Salt Lake City and even more of a benefit to the communities where it is opening up their service.
