Considering what it could have been, the news on Russell Tialavea is better than feared. The following note came in from BYU Football Media Relaions Director Brett Pyne late Sunday night:

An MRI exam was conducted today on the knee injury sustained Saturday by BYU defensive tackle Russell Tialavea. The MRI revealed a high-grade MCL sprain and not an ACL injury as was the initial concern. Tialavea is expected to be out 2-4 weeks.
